Project Overview
In 2021, Global Brigades concluded the improvement of the existing water system in the community of El Limon. This water system now feeds 350 community members.
El Limon, Panama
El Limon is located in Cocle, Panama. When Global Brigades visited the community in 2021, the community members expressed that the water system they had needed to be improved, moreover, they remarked that water was not available all day at all times and this was an issue especially when kids had to go to school and there was no water available for them. Usually, the members store the water from the tank in barrels.
Water System Solution
When Global Brigades finished the assessment in the community, they decided that the best and optimal solution for the community of El Limon was to improve the quality of the existing water system and also build and install a new emergency or reserve 1,000-gallon water tank to sort out the lack of water in the school. Community members and brigades began working on this water system in January 2020 and finished in April 2021. This system now supplies water to 350 inhabitants.
